CALDER NORTHERN DIVISION
TRAIN ORDERS
January 2023
Welcome to the first edition of Train Orders for 2023 I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and you’re looking forward to what 2023 can bring. This is my final Train Orders, the next one will be from Mike Pringle. I have enjoyed my time as secretary and I wish the group every success for the future.
Les Heriott
Thank you Terry for the obituary that was published in the latest edition of the Bulletin. Les’ ill be much missed within the hobby.
AGM
This is notice that the Calder Northern AGM will be held on February 11th at 11am. If anyone has any particular issues they want to raise and therefore want them included in the agenda? If so let me know before 31st January please.
Member news
Paul Mitchell and Mike Pringle were elected to the committee at the EGM. Well done guys, thank you for volunteering. Mike as the new secretary will take over his new role as from the AGM meeting.
Finances
Roy will prepare the audited accounts and report on these at the AGM.
Layouts
The layout operating rota will only be for Saturdays this year and the calendar for the group meetings for 2023 is as follows. Please note the changes from a standard pattern.
7th January, 11th February, 11th March, 8th April, 13th May, 17th June, 8th July, 12th August, 9th September, 14th October, 11th November, 9th December.
Devils Creek – this layout has been sold and was collected in early January. We received £265 for it.
Baltic Street – this will replace Devils Creek and will be re-planned in order to take advantage of being set up the whole time and the enhanced possibilities that arise both from that and more space.
Western Mills. It has been proposed that we organise some rudimentary operating sessions for the Wednesday sessions. This will allow us to develop an operating schema which could be tried on at a weekend meet. If anyone is interested in knowing more/joining in the operating sessions talk to Len Ford or myself.
NMRA Meets
The next NMRA meet is 4th February at Stokenchurch, Junction 5 on the M40. I’ve always found the winter meet hugely enjoyable and although it is a long drive it was worth it.
I look forward to seeing you all on 11th February at Crewe
