Meetings at Crewe

A reminder that the next meeting is Sunday 10th October, starting at 10am and finishing at the
usual time. The CHC have changed the fluorescent tubes in the railway room for LED
equivalents, it has delivered a slight improvement in the light levels in the room.

Next months’ meeting will be 13th November and will be the AGM as well as a running session.

The zoom meetings have been arranged through to January, the dates are all Mondays, 18th
October, 15th November, 20th December and 17th January. Well see how things go but if there is
demand then they can be arranged through next year.

The Heritage Centre have made little progress on the work in the signal box toilets but they are
usable at the moment. The café is still not in operation so its bring your own lunch and drinks on
Sunday

Conventions

A reminder that the 2021 convention is at Derby and the dates are 2224th October. This will be a
great opportunity to renew friendships and enjoy the fellowship that the NMRA offers.

The dates for the 2022 convention at Crewe are 11/12/13 November and the Calder Northern
committee has confirmed our intention to host the convention.

At the AGM in November we will discuss the preparations that are necessary for the convention.

Work has continued to modify the track arrangements on the south end of the layout. The link
from the short line runaround loop is in and is fully usable, the final step is to install the point
motors on the two new points. The replacement trackwork for the double slip has been more
problematic. You may remember that in the last Train Orders I said that Steve and I were not
happy with the layout or appearance of the tracks replacing the double slip. We removed what we
had laid and started again. The revised layout looks better and has larger radius curves through
that section than either the original track layout or the first revision.

For the coming Sunday meet there is no connection to the end of the caboose loop but it is
possible to run through the two station platforms.

Devils Creek and Baltic Street

No work this month.

Hoping to see many of you on Sunday.
